The first Accountants Inc. office opened its doors over 20 years ago in 1986 in San Francisco and immediately began setting new standards of performance throughout the staffing industry. From there, expansion continued across California with the ultimate aim of making Accountants Inc. the name in accounting and finance staffing across the country via both company owned and franchise branches.
To do this, offices were opened in "cluster markets" close to each other, creating an expanded network of resources for both clients and candidates and making teamwork an integral part of Accountants Inc.’s philosophy and practice. Operating under the premise that we could deliver faster results to our clients and candidates by working together, Accountants Inc. focused heavily on service and began to distinguish ourselves from other staffing organizations. The company flourished, and in just our third month of operation a second office was opened to meet the rapidly growing demand for our service. By the end of the first fiscal year, four Accountants Inc. offices were opened in the Bay Area.
This consistent growth, and success soon caught the attention of Select Appointments (Holdings) Limited, a leading international provider of staffing organizations. Accountants Inc. joined the Select Group in 1993. Select's global presence and local focus fit in perfectly with Accountants Inc.’s objectives as it allowed continued expansion without compromising the commitment to service and support that differentiated us from our competitors.
In 1999, Select merged with Vedior, one of the world’s largest recruitment companies. Vedior has a more diverse portfolio of recruitment services than any other recruitment company. This diversity has the advantage that it delivers a more balanced revenue stream in a cyclical industry and also makes Vedior an attractive partner for local, regional, national and international employees. While each brand within the Vedior group has an individual character relevant to its sector and country of operation, the common elements that define a Vedior company are quality of service, specialization and focus on profitability.
